Shorebird Peril

This piece was inspired by the sandpipers that scurry along the edge of the water as waves roll in on the beach. They poke in the sand for snails, worms, insect larvae, and microorganisms. Trash that people leave on the beach from their picnics is an attractive hazard for shore birds. I often pick up bits of trash left by other beachgoers, lest they create perils for the birds. This piece would look great on a side table, dresser, or fireplace mantel.
